He made a superb century to guide India to a very famous win and the partnership with Yuvraj Singh who made 85 was superb.

In fact, the openers and particularly the inning of Virender Sehwag provided the required base to the win. India's win is now dependent on opening partnership.

India Vs England 1st test, day 4 highlights

Day 4 seemed to be a very good day looking the way England batted. First Strauss was the man to get a century, then Collingwood both making 108 each. The partnership between Strauss and Collingwood continued till the lunch. But soon the wickets started falling and England declared their inning on 311/9 with a very good lead of 386 runs.

But India got a very good start with Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir. India's 100 runs got completed in just 108 balls without loosing any wicket. The openers are giving a lot of hopes to India. At one stage it seemed India could never revive again. But the way openers played is brilliant. Sehwag was outstanding but lost his wicket being lbw in the bowling of Swann who seemed to be the pick of English bowlers.

England Overnight runs till the end of day 3: 173/3
England 2nd inning : 311 / 9 declared.

India overnight score for 2nd inning 131/1
Sehwag 83, Gambhir -41* , Dravid 2*

India require 256 more runs to win with 1 day and 9 wickets remaining. Enjoy day 5 live on this blog.

Highlights of India Vs England 1st test, day 3

The first test at Chennai between England and India is now favoring England. After a superb century in the 1st inning, Strauss has blasted another superb 72 not out in the second inning. England is leading the match by 247 runs with still 7 wickets remaining after the end of day 3.

After the end of day 3, England are 173/3 leading by 247 runs. India were all out on 241 runs after great bowling from the English players. Hats off to Flintoff who took 3 wickets and Strauss who played beautifully in the 3rd day of the match.

So, now only rain or miracle can save the match for England. A draw without rain is almost impossible and Indian win is very very difficult. If India are to win the match they must took all the English wickets very early.

Highlights of India Vs England 5th ODI

After a 4-0 win already India seems to be targeting 7-0 looking at the way Indians played against England in 5th ODI against England at Cuttack. India won the 5th ODI by 6 wickets and are dominating the 7-match series with 5-0.

England were able to score 270 runs loosing 4 wickets in 50 overs, the first time they played all 50 overs in the series. Kevin Pietersen played the captain's knock of 111 batting at no. 3 and Owais Shah continued with his superb form scoring 66 of just 57 balls.

India made a superb start with Sehwag and Tendulakar. Sehwag was able to get 91 in just 73 balls and Tendulkar just completed his 50 before getting out.

Highlights of England batting ( 1st innings):

RS Bopara 24 AN Cook 11 KP Pietersen 111* PD Collingwood 40 A Flintoff 0 OA Shah 66*
IK Pathan 0/57 Z Khan 2/60 I Sharma 1/54 Harbhajan Singh 1/47 Yuvraj Singh 0/38

0-10 overs : England 68 /2.Good start by England but lost the wickets of the openers Bopara and Cook. But Pietersen batting at no.3 seemed to be in real nick. The 21 runs he made in this period were in just 11 balls and he had hit 5 fous.

11- 20 overs: England 105 /2: Though the run rate was not in skier, England played really well. Indian bowlers were not able to grab any wicket. Collingwood and Pietersen were playing on the safe side with ease.

21- 30 overs: England 157/3 . Eveything was going right for England except for the last ball of 30th over. Collingwood lost his wicket giving a superb catch to Zaheer at long-on in the bowling of Harbajan. Pietersen was superb as he completed his 50.

31- 40 overs : England 196/4. Flintoff was out in duck in the 31st over but England didn't lost wicket. Most of the overs in this part was bowled by spinners due to which not much of big scoring overs. Anyway, Pietersen and Shah went right.

41-50 overs : Finally England 270/4: What a great finish by Owais Shah. And Pietersen controlled the whole inning for his team with 111 not out. Shah proved he is a great finisher. I felt the final overs were in equilibrium.

Highlights of India Batting (2nd innings):

V Sehwag 91 SR Tendulkar 50 Yuvraj Singh 6 MS Dhoni 50 SK Raina 53* RG Sharma 8*
SJ Harmison 1/50 SCJ Broad 1/54 A Flintoff 0/43 SR Patel 0/23 GP Swann 1/56
RS Bopara 1/42

1-10 overs: India 53/0. What a start from Sehwag and Tendulkar. Scoring at a very good rate both seemed to be on fire. The quickfire from them forced England not to take the poweplay.

11-20 overs: India 138/1. Though Tendulkar departed in the 4 th ball of 20th over after making his 50, Sehwag is firing against the English Bowlers. Except the wicket of Tendulkar in last over it was superb batting by India and seems they can easily win the match. Complete dominance.

21-30 overs: India 179/3. Superb inning of Sehwag of 91 ends and Yuvi could not smash as he made just 9. But India still commanding.

31-40 overs: India 243/3: Great batting from the captain Dhoni and Suresh Raina. India in the doors of winning the match.Raina and Dhoni in verge of getting their fifties.

41 - 43.4 overs: Inda 273/4. India has won the match though they lost Dhoni. A great finish to the match. Superb batting from Indian openers and superb finish from Dhoni and Suresh Raina. India are now 5-0 in 7-match series.

Highlights of India Vs England 4th ODI

India has won the fourth ODI between England and India and clinched the series 4-0. In a rain affected match 22 overs were only allowed for each team and India won the match by 19 runs using complex D/L method. Virender Sehwag is the man of the match for his brilliant 69 runs.

India 166 / 4 in 22 overs
England 178 / 8 in 22 overs.

You may be astonished to see England getting more runs and still winning but the matter is wickets which England lost more. If India had lost less wickets, the target will be more for England.

India batting (1st innings)
V Sehwag 69 SR Tendulkar 11 G Gambhir 40 Yuvraj Singh 25* MS Dhoni 9 YK Pathan 6*
JM Anderson 0/33 SCJ Broad 1/49 A Flintoff 0/20 SR Patel 1/24 GP Swann 2/21 KP Pietersen 0/17

1- 10 overs : India 61/1. India got a moderate start after they chose to open with Sachin and Sehwag. Sehwag was aggressive start while Tendulkar kept somewhat silent. Broad bowled beautifully and got the wicket of Sachin early. The partnership of Gambhir and Sehwag proved that opening with them is best and Sachin should have come later. In the tenth over Gambhir hit Broad for 10 fours.

11- 14 overs: India 82/1:The 12 th over was huge with Sehwag hitting 2 fours and a six. The rest overs kept silent. Rain started and match stopped.

14-17 overs: India got to 106/1 but rain stopped the match for a longer time.

18 th over: The match started after the rain and the total overs to bat became just 22. Sehwag opened the inning with a six in the first ball and it became a great over for India.

19 th Over : Sehwag was trying every ball for six so he got out in the first ball. Great bowling from Swann. A good over for England I recommend.

20th Over: Pietersen bowled himself and got smashed to two great sixes by Yuvraj Singh. I thought Flintoff should have bowled instead as it was probably the worst over for England. India 141 /2

21 st Over: Great bowling again by Swann. Gambhir out but Yuvi hit a huge six. Dhoni joined the party and hit another six himself. India 156/3

22 nd Over: Dhoni tried to smash but gets bowled by Patel. A great over except the last ball in which Yusuf Pathan smashed a great six in his first ball. India 166/4
England Batting.

England Inning Highlights: (2nd inning:)
England : 178 / 8 in 22 overs.

RS Bopara 1 IR Bell 12 OA Shah 72 KP Pietersen 5 A Flintoff 41PD Collingwood 22 SR Patel 11GP Swann 5 MJ Prior 0* SCJ Broad 0*

Z Khan 2/20 MM Patel 2/22 I Sharma 2/41 YK Pathan 0/17 Harbhajan Singh 1/42 Yuvraj Singh 0/31

I thought Owais Shah batted very beautifully and Munaf Patel and Zaheer Khan were great in bowling for India. Ishant Sharma, Harbajan Singh and others were not very good in bowling. India are series winners.

V Sehwag 69 SR Tendulkar 11 G Gambhir 40 Yuvraj Singh 25* MS Dhoni 9 YK Pathan 6*

5th ODI - India v England
Date: Wednesday 26 th November, 2008
Time : 14:00 local, 08:30 GMT
Venue: Barabati Stadium, Cuttack

Live cricket score of India Vs England 5th ODI at Cuttack:

Preview : The match is now has became the useless one for both the teams. India has already won the series 4-0 and England didn't have any chance to be competative in the series. But both the teams wants to win the match. India will like to claim their victory streak for long and England wants get the form back.

Dispute between Dhoni and selectors regarding RP Singh's omission

Dispute has arose between Indian captain MS Dhoni and the selectors regarding the selection of Indian team for the next two one-dayers against England. There has been two changes in the team. Sachin Tendulkar is brought back in place of and Irfan Pathan has replaced RP Singh. There is no conflict for the first change but Dhoni and selectors had some dispute regarding RP Singh. Dhoni is in support of RP and wants him in team while the selectors want to replace him with Irfan Pathan.

The conflict took such a mode that Dhoni even threatened to resign from his captaincy. Though, either side refused all this, the media is continuously broadcasting it saying this is the truth. When asked with Dhoni, he said that he was not the authorized man to disclose the meeting. Either BCCI or the selectors should speak.

So, even after 3 wins in a row, there is a great conflict regarding the team selection.

Highlights of England Innings (1st inning):

0-10 overs: England - 44/0. England chose to open with Ian Bell and Ravi Bopara and it proved to be a very good choice. The opening stand was in fact the best stand in the inning and though England openers made somewhat slow start gave a solid start in the first 10 overs.

10-20 overs: England 102 /2 . The introduction of Harbajan Singh in over worked as he took wicket of Pitersen in the first ball of 20th over. Munaf Patel took the wicket of Ian Bell earlier to calm the English openers who seemed great.

20-30 overs : England 140/4. Very good bowling from Harbajan Singh in this part of the match. Harbajan took the wicket of Collingwood in 22 nd over. Yuvraj too gave great support as he took the wicket of danger looking Bopara in the 29th over. Good inning from Ravi Bopara of 60.

30 -40 overs: England 179 / 5. England lost the wicket of Flintoff who got some sort of start. Indian bowling was good and Owais Shah batted beautifully in this part of the game.

40 - 48.4 overs: England 240 all out. England again could not complete their innings and got out two balls before. Not a great contribution at the end and really lousy end. I must say Owais Shah's 40 in this part was vital.

The Stats above shows how effective can Yuvraj Singh be against England. If you omit the test matches where he is not considered a regular member, you find him superb. Either its in One day or the only twenty20 where he got fastest fifty and the infamous 6-sixes, he has shown that his favourite is England.

This 7-match ODI series has proved all these. Two back to back centuries in opeining matches are the proof. The last ODI tour of England to India in 2007 was also the series where Yuvraj got a superb century and was man of the series.

Even Yuvraj Singh bowling becomes better against England. Still 5 more matches left in the series and Yuvi can show more magic.

India VS England 2nd ODI Highlights - Hero Honda Cup 2008

India Won the match by 54 runs and has lead the 7-match series 2-0. Yuvraj Singh Heroics both with bat scoring 118 and ball taking 4 wickets in this match is one of the most remarkable performance of all times.

India Innings Highlights:

1st 10 overs if Indian innings : I must say India were down in the first 10 overs loosing 10 wickets. Stuart Broad bowled brilliantly. Sehwag was bowled by Broad in second over then Suresh Raina became his victim. Rohit Sharma was also out quickly. India were 43/3 and I think even Yuvraj Singh struggled a lot.

10- 20 overs : India 96/3 which means good recovery. Yuvraj and Gambhir played slowly in this part. the 11th and 12th overs were maiden. Yuvi hit a solid six in the last ball of 20th over which was great.

20-30 overs : India 163/4 lost Gautam Gambhir in the last ball of 30th over in this period but had this part of the match was one of the best parts of the innings. Yuvraj had started smashing a the ball.

30- 40 overs : India 210/5 lost Dhoni in this part of the innings. Yuvraj Singh completed his century in 106 balls.

40- 50 overs : India 292/9. Yusuf Pathan was the main highlight of the last 10 overs. Pathan made 50 runs in just 29 balls and his 4 sixes were brilliant. Though Yuvi was gone in 43.4 over, he had done a lot of damage and Yusuf Pathan did his best. India managed 82 runs in the last 10 overs.

England Innings Highlights
England got a target of 293 which was not a so hard to chase but was really the fighting total.

First wicket as run out in first over made England really nervous , they had to lose Ian Bell for 1. Then other opener Matt Prior and Shah tried to make a patnership which then was broke out by Hero of first Inning 'Yuvraj'. Owais Shah went for 58 and Proi9r for 38.
Then all the collapse happened.
Pieterson and Flintoff tried a great effort and after them it was all in India's way. Yuvraj took 4-28 0f his 10 whereas Sehwag got 3 wickets.

Eventually England were all out for 238 off 47 overs.

Spendid action from Yuvraj ( century and 4 wickets) made the all-rounder MAN OF THE MATCH

Live cricket scores / scorecard for the India Vs England 2nd ODI at Indore (automatic refresh):

Preview: After a disastrous win of India against England in the first ODI, Indian fans hope similar action. But England under the captaincy of Kevin Pietersen is much more stronger than it seemed to be in the first ODI. The absence of Ishant Sharma and Yuvraj Singh being in doubt for the game will certainly affect Indian team's performance.
