Its the final of ICC Champions trophy 2009 and two neighboring countries - Australia and New Zealand will battle for for the championship. Australia after being defeated in Ashes came back strongly in ODI series and now has once again showing signs of being world champion. New Zealand on other hand were considered underdogs but have proved themselves to be a great team.

Sri Lanka vs New Zealand - Live in ICC Champions Trophy 2009

SL vs NZ - Champions Trophy group B match
Date: 27th September , 2009
Match time: 09:30 local, 07:30 GMT

Its do or die situation for New Zealand who have lost one match in the Champions trophy. With England, South Africa and Sri Lanka with one win each, Kiwis should win this match to remain in the group. However, the path is not difficult for Sri Lankans who have lost a match against England despite the win against South Africa. An win will not guarantee their place in semis.

Players to watch out:
Ajantha Mendis and Dilshan for Sri Lanka.
Shane Bond and ROss Taylor for New Zealand.

South Africa vs New Zealand - Live in ICC Champions Trophy 2009

Its a difficult situation for the hosts South Africa who are considered as the favorites of Champions Trophy 2009. A defeat against New Zealand can make their journey to the semi-final almost impossible as they need to defeat England in the next match by huge margin. Except Dale Steyn no one seemed to be providing any trouble to Sri Lankans. In batting, they started well but their batting was shattered by spinners and fast bowlers. Seeing all these we can say there is a 50% chance for them in this match.

Match time: 09:30 local, 07:30 GMT,13:00 in India

The journey too is not so easy for New Zealand. They were in bad form in tri-series but won India in practice match which has given them some confidence. Youngsters are their power.

Watch out for:
Dale Steyn, who can be quite useful with his pace.
Shane Bond, who has made a great comeback.

India vs New Zealand in Champions trophy warm-up match 2009 - live

Before the start of Champions Trophy, India plays an unofficial ODI match against New Zealand as a practice match. Its the final practice for the Indian team for Champions trophy in which they are regarded as one of the favorites. India had defeated New Zealand heavily in the recent encounter in tri-series. Though India plays a single warm-up match, New Zealand played against the Warriors in which it suffered a heavy defeat.

India vs New Zealand - Champions Trophy Warm-up match 2009
Date: 20th September. Time: 12:30 PM GMT , 6:00 PM Indian time

The match is supposed to be a exciting match. Regular Indian players from the 15-men squad will play in the match. Though its unofficial, it is supposed to provide the full excitement which a ODI match provides. But I don't think the match will be shown live on TV.

I have checked the schedule of Star cricket which broadcasts in India and Supersport which broadcast in South Africa but none are showing the warm-ups. The best way to get live action is from Live commentary and scorecards from the Internet. Just go to cricinfo for live action.

Sri Lanka won the 1st ODI of the Compaq cup tri-series against New Zealand by 97 runs. It was a low-scoring match. Sri Lanka won the toss, batted first and posted a total of 216. The Sri Lankan inning which was once at 69/5 was boosted by the century by Samaraweera and half-century by Matthews. It was a fast bowlers game. Shane Bond who played ODI cricket after a long gap took 3 wickets. Tuffey and Butler were other fast bowlers who bowled beautifully. But the century by Samaraweera turned the match in Sri Lanka's favour. A great partnership was between Matthews and Samaraweera for 6th wicket which lifted the total.

Pakistan Vs New Zealand in T20 World cup - super 8

Pakistan is facing a Do or die as an win against New Zealand will keep them in the series but a loss will rule them with one more match to go. Pakistan has so far displayed a great bowling especially by spinners but the batting doesn't seem world class. Younis Khan who is the second leading scorer of World T20 has batted alone. New Zealand on other hand New Zealand have done great against minnows but are yet to prove against the giants.

New Zealand v Pakistan , ICC World Twenty20 - Group F, super 8
Time: 16:30 GMT | 17:30 Local Day and Night
Venue : The Oval

Prediction and preview: Pakistan had entered the finals of T20 World cup 2007 after a win against NZ in semis. For me, they are still the favorites for the match. Batting needs to improve. Malik and Misbah must fire. Bowling for Pakistan seems great with Afridi, Umar Gul and Ajmal.

The good news for Pakistani fans(especially me) is that Abdul Razzaq will play the match after a long, long time. He was dropped in ICC World T20 2007 which forced him to sign for the ICL where he was one of the best players both with bat and bowl. But after being released, he has replaced Yasir Arafat. Razzaq, an all-rounder is one of the hardest hitter of ball.

Watch out for : Abdul Razzaq

New Zealand Vs Ireland in T20 World Cup 2009 - Super Eights

NZ Vs IRE
Group F Match |
At Tent Bridge |
On June 10 2009 |
Starts 13:30 Local |
12:30 GMT |

The first match on super eight is between the two group F teams, Ireland and New Zealand. It is important match for the both teams. New Zealand will not take Ireland easy and they shouldn't do that either. Since, the last ICC World Cup in WI Ireland had come impressing everyone. They were also in the Super Eight of that tournament and had defeated teams like Pakistan, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe. They weren't looking easier to clean-up.

In this T20 World Cup, both the teams are spotted in the second position of the 1st group stage matches. Ireland came impressive with the victory against the powerful Bangladesh. New Zealand had to lose against the South Africa in the tight match played. But Ireland's performance against the T20 champion Indiawas not as so high. Lots more needed for the side.

Johtson and two McCullum brothers will be players to be watched again if they can perform well, Ireland. Rather, there will be four total McCullum in the ground as New Zealand also have two McCullum in the squad.

India Vs New Zealand 2009, 3rd test- day 3: Highlights

At the end of day 3India are: 349/5 in second innings after starting at 51/1

India has extended their lead to 531 in the third day in which they completely dominated New Zealand. Man in a superb form, Gautam Gambhir 167 runs. He lead the team from the front to extend the lead in which Dravid and Laxman who made 60 and 61 gave good support.

India were 51/1 at the end of day 2 with Gambhir and Dravid at the crease. They played beautifully and got their 50's each. Gambhir got his 50 and Dravid followed a bit later. At lunch they got to 170/1. Gambhir got his century immediately after the lunch. Dravid was then out after a superb interpretation from wicket keeper McCullum. Dravid swept the ball of Vettori but McCullum got to the leg side earlier and got the man at 60.

Tendulkar was out early at 9. VVS Laxman then played fine inning of 61. Gambhir got out making 167 being lbw off O'Brien followed by Laxman shortly. So, Yuvraj and Dhoni are at crease. The day got ended earlier but the 4th day will start 30 minute earlier.

India will look to extend the lead to about 600 and will probably declare after first session. India has almost 90% chances of winning the match and the series 2-0. I don't think New Zealand can comeback and win and there is very less chance of raining. Cheers! Indian fans, India is about to create history.
