Semi-finals Matches schedules:
Match#1 : Pakistan Vs South Africa on June18, Thursday
Match#2 : Sri Lanka Vs West Windies on June 19, Friday
ICC World Twenty20 2009 hosted in England is now near to the semi-final stage. Lots of action have gone passed away in the 1st round and super eight matches played till now. Disappointment for some teams and great achievement for some other teams. All the four teams for the semi-final spot has been confirmed and they are South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies and Pakistan.
South Africa and West Indies are the teams which were qualified from the Group E of Super 8. From Group F, Pakistan came tyhe first one that was qualified from the group whereas Sri Lanka qualified as the group topper from the Group F. Strongly Sri Lanka defeated New Zealand in the last match of Group F.
Till now lots of action came through in England as cricket giants Australia had to move out of tournament in without winning any matches from its group stages. From the Group stages, Bangladesh after defeated from the Ireland and India had to book their ticket back home. Teams like Pakistan and England had to struggle for the place in the super eight stage.
India managed only the defeat from its first two matches played in Super Eight stage and was directly knock-out. England was knocked-out by the the West Indies team. Ireland lost its three matches and left England with some prestige of getting the spot in Super Eight.
Finally, Pakistan being the F2 i.e., runner-up in Grop F will play the south Africa which are the topper of Group E. In the other side, Sri Lanka the Group F topper play agaonst the Group E runners up West Indies in the semi-finals.
