Pakistan are the World T20 Champions

After being defeated in the final of 2007, Pakistan reached the final of T20 World cup 2009 and made no mistake this time. Pakistan are the new ICC World T20 Champions after they defeated Sri Lanka in the final by 8 wickets. Starting as underdogs in the series, Pakistan had some do or die situations but they crossed it easily and became more and more stronger as the series progressed by.

The second semifinals pof ICC World Twenty20 2009 in England is between Sri Lanka and West Indies. Sri Lanka are raised high by thier spin-attack but west Indies spin-attack is not as much as expected. The most common thing is the opener and left-handed batsmans, the great hitters of cricket ball Chris Gayle and Sanath Jayasuriya. Tilakratne Dilsan's batting can be compared to the Bravo's batting. And the two shringers Edwards and Malinga would be the another interesting factor to watch because its all for fun. No matter who wins but the great competition will be mustly expected between this two teams. But its the matter for the captainsto go the toss on the final. Pakistan in the finals of T20 World Cup 2009

Pakistan have placed them successfully in the finals of ICC World Twenty20 2009. Pakistan defeated the South Africa by 7-runs in the 1st semi-final played in Trent Bridge, Nottingham on Thursday (click here for H/L Video). This is the second time in the two T20 World Cup played till now, Pakistan have been to the finals. Last time Pakistan were in the finals at South Africa on 2007 where they were defeated by India by a small margin.

Talking about the Pakistan recent form it seems to have lots of ups and downs. But Pakistan looks always a strong side and they are the favorite in the 20 over format games. During the initial phases to the T20 series in England Pakistan seemed to be struggling. Losing both the warm-up matches Pakistan had a poor start in the tournament where they lost against the host England in their first group stage match. But they comeback well and fight for the super 8 position.

Same thing on Super eight stage, Pakistan were trembling badly in the initial match and pressure on winning the rest of two matches. Thanks a lot to their great performance against the New Zealand and Ireland which made their way in the semis of ICC World Twenty20 2009. Then, Pakistan faced the unbeaten team in the tournament i.e., South Africa in the final. Pressure built match for the teams.

Thanks to the all-round performance of Shahid Afridi that roared the Pakistan to the Sunday match at Lord's. Shahid Afridi fired a quick knock of 53 and took 2-16 which was key in the Pakistan success in semi-finals. The inform bowlers' like Gul and Ajmal were fully on support to the team.

This year Pakistan will really like to change the history and win the ICC World Twenty20 to themselves. With the poor start in the warm-up matches and first group match, Pakistan seemed to be getting out of track from this year's T20 World Cup. Strongly Sri Lanka defeated New Zealand in the last match of Group F.

Till now lots of action came through in England as cricket giants Australia had to move out of tournament in without winning any matches from its group stages. From the Group stages, Bangladesh after defeated from the Ireland and India had to book their ticket back home. Teams like Pakistan and England had to struggle for the place in the super eight stage.

India managed only the defeat from its first two matches played in Super Eight stage and was directly knock-out. England was knocked-out by the the West Indies team. Ireland lost its three matches and left England with some prestige of getting the spot in Super Eight.

Pakistan has qualified for the semi-final stage of T20 World Cup 2009. After the win of Pakistan against the Ireland on Monday confirmed their ticket for the further stage. This is the second time in second edition of T20 World Cup. Last time Pakistan had qualified to the finals and lost against the India. But this year India is already out the tournament. Pakistan play the semi-final match against the South Africa in the semi-finals of ICC World T20 2009.

On Monday, Pakistan beat Ireland by the margin of 39 runs. After the win Pakistan are spotted in the 1st position of the Group F with 4 points. In the other hand, Sri Lanka also have four points but their net run rate is less compared to Pakistan. New Zealand have 2-points which means that they have to win Sri Lanka to qualify for the semis with some greater margin.

Pakistan tam had loose its both warm-ups against the SA and IND before the tournament. It became more criticised after they lost against the England in the first match of the tournament. Lots of pressure on the team in the match against one of the low-ranked Netherlands. But they came well enough to beat Netherlands and had a journey to the Super 8s of ICC T20 World Cup 2009.

Some amount of pressure was released as they were on Super 8s. But here also they had to face defeat against the Sri Lanka in the first match. Now Pakistan needed both the matches on their hand to qualify for further. They did that against both the New Zealand and Ireland and spotted themselves i the semi-final of ICC World Twenty20 2009.

Pakistan bowling attack seemed to be doing excellent throughout the series whereas some little bit of up-downs in the Batting is also seen. Spinners are doing more better job in the middle order whereas pacer are providing fine start to the team's bowling attack. Umer Gul and Saeed Ajmal are two top-listed wicket-taker in ICC World Twenty20 2009. Whereas in batting captain Younis Khan and Kamran Akmal are at the top level from the Pakistan team.

Pakistan had to loose some of its fine player like Shoaib Akhtar and Sohail Tanvir before and during the tournament. But after the Tanvir's return, former ICL player Abdul Razzaq is back on the side and provided good all-round support till now in two matches played by him.

India had a easily first round group which consists the Bangladesh and Ireland. They were able to get all 4-points from the matches played. They are yet to clash against the big nations in this year's ICC World Twenty20. India also had decent match against those teams. Youngsters did a very fine job.

West Indies a memorable start to the tournament in England where they defeated the Australians by a huge margin. The ideal start what the team would have wanted. West Indies had to lose its both matches in 2007 T20 World Cup and was sent back to the home before the Super Eights. This time the lights of Chris Gayle is expected to make the team more further.

Indian Team:
News from the center is that Virender Sehwag is unavailabe for the further matches in the series. This is a great lowdown for the Indian team. Dinesh Karthik will be replacing Virender Sehwag. The team instead looks very much brilliant. Many new youngsters to the side and they are performing very well. Rohit Sharma is in great touch and Pragyan Ojha is the leading wicket-taker for them.

Apart from R Sharma, Gautam Gambhir is also giving a great start to the team. The IPL campaign seems to be doing great for the team. Suresh Raina is another youngster who is in great form. Any of this top order youngsters again fires then the team will have very great start in batting. Talking about the Dhoni's recent form, he is the one who is going a side from the track. No one is unaware if his capabilities and when he fires then it gives great chance of victory. Yusuf Pathan, having yet another brilliant IPL didn't had a lot to do in the group stage but now the scenario is different, and he also should perform well.

Pragyan Ojha is doing great job with his spin attack and should continue to more ranked teams in Group E. Pace attack lead by Zaheer Khan is well supported by Ishant Sharma and RP Singh. Irfan Pathan also might be there in the squad. But the important topic is that how the opening bowler will react against the Chris Gayle after seeing his last match. They will surely watch the video many times before bowling to him.

West Indies Team:
First talking matter is the captain Chris Gayle. No suprisement if he again holds the Indian as they did again t the Australian last time. Gayle missed the match against Lanka and the team seemed to be different than they were against the Australians. Important thing is that along with his captaincy, his team really requires the allround performance from him.

Some experienced name in the squad like Sarwan and Chanderpaul should hold on the middle-order. Big all-rounders and hitters like Marshall, Fletcher, Kieron Pollard and the veteran Dwaryne Bravo. Great names in the paper and sould act themselves great from their match action.

Bowling attack in the start was the main dfference in the win and lost in the 1st round of ICC T20 2009. The opening attack from Taylor and Fidel Edwards will be important term. If they can get couple or more success in the early overs than the match will be in different feel. Chris Gayle and Suliemen Benn should hold on the spin attack in the middle overs. Bravo's accuracy and slow bowl in the end overs seems to be important aspect for the team.

All together both the teams seems to be in contender for the victory but the victory will be for those who will perform well. The match is very important match and will be release enormous amount of pressure for the fight for the place in semi-final.

England Vs South Africa - Live in Super Eight of T20 World Cup 2009

The host nation will start its super eight journey against the match against South Africa in ICC World T20. England recovered with a win against Pakistan after having a disastrous start with a loss against Netherlands. South Africa on the other hand were superb with over 100 runs win over Scotland but couldn't display good batting against New Zealand though they eventually won the match. The first match on super eight is between the two group F teams, Ireland and New Zealand. It is important match for the both teams. New Zealand will not take Ireland easy and they shouldn't do that either. Since, the last ICC World Cup in WI Ireland had come impressing everyone. The veterans against the Australia, Sri Lanka and West Indies will play for the group top spot here in Nottingham. Both the teams have defeated Australia in their initial matches. SL an WI have already qualified for the 2nd round of ICC World Twenty20 2009. The match will be played for the prestige and will want the win in order to build up the confidence in the series.

West Indies defeated Australia by a huge margin. Thanks to the great batting from the Captain Chris Gayle. Gayle seemed to be unstoppable throughout the match. Unlike other matches, there was somebody giving the support to the aggressive Gayle. Fletcher scored a half century giving the opening stand of 130 runs between Gayle and himself. Bowling attack was equally great. Two early wickets in the first over from Taylor and brilliant pace-attack till the end. Something that needs to improve is the spin-attack. Benn and Gayle didn't have great time with the ball in the hand.

Sri Lanka was always in the top in the match against Australia. Talking about their bowling attack, the restriction of Australia to 159 was very much meant bowlers did great job in that ground. Ajantha Mendis showed his talent yet another time and picked three wickets for 20 runs. It seemed no-one was able to pick Mendis and his accuracy stopped the flow of runs. Jayasuriya was looking in bad touch with both ball and bat. As his duty is to take the team into very good start but could not establish well. Dilshan seemed unstoppable as he batted beautifully giving continuity to the form he got in IPL. Captain Sangakkara who is great in every form of cricket made got the victory for the Lankans.

The first thing to be watched will always be the Chris Gayle and Sanath Jayasuriya. Then, Mendis and Suleman Benn, Malingha and Edwards, Dilshan and Fletcher and others too.

Interesting to see will be that the team will be unchanged from both sides or they will give chance to the other players in the dressing room as they are already ahead in the series.

Pakistan Vs Netherlands in T20 World cup 2009

After a loss against England, Pakistan are in the danger of early exit from ICC World T20 2009. Now only a win by more than 25 runs or before 18 overs(if batting second) can qualify Pakistan for the second stage of the tournament.
